Akukind - The Brood of Hell
Element: Fire
Class: Mammal
Talent: Attack

Akukind gain strength from their rage. They are capable of lifting several times their own weight. Akukind are difficult to handle, but with patience they can be loyal comrades.

Personalities and Behaviors

Akukind are notoriously brutal and uncaring creatures. These young demons constantly seek power and they are willing to overcome any foe to do so. Even from birth, Akukind’s first rivals will be their own littermates. These anti social creatures are known for attacking anyone who approaches them or enters their territory.

Despite their wrathful tendencies Akukind are intelligent monsters. When they aren’t enrage they are capable of making calculated decisions and using tools with ease. Because Akukind are so intelligent they become bored quite easily; sometimes they cause mischief and destruction for the sake of entertaining themselves.

When it comes to partners Shepherds Akukind follows those they feel are powerful and worthy. These hot blooded demons resonate with humans who also wish to become stronger.

History and Culture

Akukind were feared as long as humans have existed in the desert. These demons are responsible for many destroyed camps and settlements, which now lie long buried in the sands. Largest successful desert settlements are built in locations unreachable to Akukind, outside of the monster’s patroling range, or they are capable of defending themselves with weapons, magic or their own Monrades.

It is rare for Akukind to live among humans due to their aloof nature and their violent behavior. Only experienced Shepherds have been able to give Akukind the proper discipline to become Monrades. Earning an Akukind’s loyalty is considered a badge of honor among Shepherds and the Guild.

Abilities

There are few monsters that can match Akukind’s raw power and endurance. In their search for strength they grow their muscles and toughen their horns to be as hard as iron.

Although Akukind’s magical power are fairly standard, they skillfully use their fire to enhance battle efficency. They engulf themselves in an overwhelming fiery aura as they charge. With this aura, along with their already impressive strength and tough horns, Akukind can break through anything.

Akukind’s thick skull prevents these creatures from harming themselves during their charges, but their protective brow covers their eyes to the point of blinding them. To make up for Akukind’s low vision their other senses are exceptional, especially their smell; this demon’s powerful snout detects prey and foes from miles away.

Ecology

Like many Fire monsters, Akukind can be found inhabiting the desert and its blazing heat. They are also one of the few large creatures capable of thriving in the wasteland.

In just about every biome they exist in, Akukind makes themselves apex predators; most monsters live in fear of Akukind and avoid this devil like creature at any cost. Though there are few expections such as the territorial Primaw of the desert. As far as prey, Akukind primarily targets Yamanoko and Enthropeon.

Diet

Akukind is most known for hunting animals and other monsters for meat. In reality these creatures are omnivores who also feeds on fruit and vegetables. Inbetween large hunts Akukind eats the fruit and flowers that grow from wild cacti; they seem to enjoy the taste of cactus water, too.
