Mamuwoo - The Snow Summoner
Element: Water
Class: Mammal
Talent: Health

Mamuwoo are friendly and lively monsters, adored by the children of the snowy mountains and the tundra. Despite their hefty size they can be timid creatures. Mamuwoo can use their claws to burrow in snow to avoid predators.

Personalities and Behaviors

Mamuwoo’s personality is similar to that of a human child: they are curious, playful and they trouble when they don’t mean to. However, because of these qualities they connect with children easily.

While they appear to be bouncy, lively monsters, they are small and still vunerable to predators. Mamuwoo can be timid and even jumpy in the face of danger. Whenever Mamuwoo is nervous they run to find comfort in their mother or a caretaker.

These social creatures are supportive of members of their herd; their trumpeting and dances invigorate their friends.

History and Culture

From a young age Mamuwoo are trained to become beasts of burden and companions for the people living in the snow and tundra. Instead of being owned by families and businesses the Mamuwoo belong to the whole community. While this is the case each Mamuwoo tends to have a favorite child they bond with.

It is likely Mamuwoo’s long loyalty to mankind stems from being domesticated by the Nebra Tribe, a people who lived in the mountains during the Old World era.

Abilities

Heavy, layered fur protects Mamuwoo’s soft skin from the freezing cold and bitter winds. This white, woolly coat keeps Mamuwoo from being spotted by its predators. In emergencies Mamuwoo will use their shovel like claws to quickly dig and make their escape underneath the snow.

The calls of Mamuwoo hold the power to summon snowfall at will. When a herd is excired their trumpeting will bring upon a snowstorn that acts as a freezing barrier.

These creatures are well equip to survive the harsh snow and the predators that prowl them.

Ecology

Mamuwoo are exclusive to the snowy mountains and the tundra. As a herd they can safely travel the region without the fear of being hunted. Being the among the largest creatures in the region most would not dare to challenge them. Naive young Mamuwoo who stray from their herd, however, are preyed on by Saberg and Arctic Luptor.

Diet

Being herbivores endemic to the cold regions, Mamuwoo doesn’t have access to a wide variety of vegetation to eat. In the wild these creatures typically eat icy grass, shrubs and lichen. Mamuwoo living among humans are given the opportunity to savor fruits and leafy greens their wild counterparts don’t have access to.
